Product Description

Hard wheat, durum wheat, or simply durum—these are the various names used to refer to this type of wheat. Durum wheat is believed to have evolved from emmer wheat. It is a grain that thrives in warm climates but does not require much moisture, which is why it grows well in the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Durum wheat flour contains a higher percentage of gluten and therefore has better binding properties. It remains firm when cooked, making it excellent for use in pasta, gnocchi, croquettes, or semolina dumplings.

In addition to durum flour, the lasagna sheets also contain turmeric, which gives the sheets a beautiful golden-yellow color. Turmeric, which many also call a wonder of nature, has long been known for its numerous beneficial effects on the human body. Botanically, it is related to ginger, and the yellow powder is extracted from the root of the plant, which thrives in the forests of Southeast Asia.
