Barley porridge, or ješprenj, containsmany valuable minerals and vitamins, particularly B vitamins and vitamin E. Due to its unique composition, it is classified as a food high in dietary fiber. Cooked with or without vegetables, it is served as a side dish, as a stew with potatoes and vegetables, or cold as a salad. In Asia, Greece, and Great Britain, barley water is a traditional and popular beverage, often sweetened or flavored with lemon.

Instructions

Cook it in water or broth, similar to rice, using a 1:2 ratio. To reduce the cooking time for barley porridge by 15 minutes, we recommend soaking it the night before.
