Jasmine white riceis the best-known Thai rice variety, which releases a pleasant jasmine aroma while cooking. Because it is slightly sticky, jasmine rice is well-suited for dishes eaten with chopsticks. It pairs well with Asian sweet-and-sour and spicy dishes, including those featuring vegetables, meat, and fish.

Jasmine rice is an aromatic long-grain rice known for its delicate floral aroma and slightly sticky texture after cooking. It originates from Thailand and is popular in Asian cuisine, especially as a side dish for curries, fried dishes, and vegetable dishes. It requires less water to cook than regular long-grain rice, which preserves its slightly fluffy texture.

It is characterized by a natural sweet note that complements a variety of dishes. It’s ideal for preparing exotic specialties or as a side dish on its own. Thanks to its delicious flavor, jasmine rice is also excellent for sweet dishes. You can use it, for example, in rice pudding or custard.

Jasmine rice is easy to prepare and pairs perfectly with many dishes. Before cooking, it’s recommended to rinse it under cold water to remove excess starch and prevent it from becoming too sticky. The water-to-rice ratio is usually 1.5:1, which means you use about one and a half cups of water for every cup of rice. Cook the rice over medium heat until the water comes to a boil, then let it sit, covered, for a few more minutes so the grains soften evenly.
